Project for the reconstruction of the historical interior of the Samara synagogue. The building was built in 1908 by the architect Selman Kleinerman in Moorish style.
After the war and the Soviet period, most of the building was lost, leaving only the destroyed main facade. We decided not to restore the historical structure, since many details were lost and cannot be recreated using modern methods. It was decided to create a new space using the historical architectural framework as a basis. Bring modern technology and minimalist design.
In the new space we used decorative elements from Jewish cultural symbols.
We designed large doors and stained glass structures with decor reminiscent of a Torah list. Historical octagonal columns became the basis for the formation of furniture and decorative elements that our studio specially designed. Jerusalem stone is used in the prayer hall as a connection between time and geography.
Our studio has developed unique furniture for the synagogue, taking into account modern needs and the style of the project. Historical artifacts are displayed in a specially designed museum where visitors can view the carefully preserved remains of the interior and architectural elements.
